Meet Four of our street smart coaches
Our Street Smart coaches are all trained experts, many of them with motorsports experience. We recently asked four of our coaches to share a bit of their story, and what they love most about being a coach.
Meet: Liam Sceats
Starting in go-karts at just six years old, Liam spent 15 years working through the ranks, from Formula Ford and the Toyota Racing Series, to competing internationally in Japan and the US.
He recently took a sensational victory in his first weekend of GT racing, chasing down and passing teammate Todd Kingsford on the final lap to secure an overall Race 2 win in Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia at Sepang International Circuit. The result capped off an impressive debut weekend, backing up a second place finish in the Pro Class and third overall in Race 1.
Liam brings a wealth of experience to coaching including driving control, awareness and making the right decisions when it counts.
Meet: Callum Crawley
At just 22, Callum is already a former Formula First National Champion, and two-time North Island Formula Ford Champion, with a lifetime in motorsport across karting, single-seaters and off-roading.
And now he’s passing that experience on! His favourite part about coaching is seeing young drivers have those ‘light-bulb’ moments and leave with improved skills behind the wheel.
Meet: Hugo Allen
Not your typical racing story, Hugo didn’t start on the track, but in the bedroom on a DIY sim rig before ever hitting the circuit. Now, he’s one of New Zealand’s standout young drivers - a 2022 Toyota 86 Rookie Champion, 2025/26 Bridgestone GR86 Champion, and a former Porsche Asia Pacific Talent Pool driver.
He’s been a Street Smart coach for the past two years, working with young drivers to build real skills and awareness before they take on NZ roads. He’s a big advocate of Street Smart, calling in a cost effective pay to pick up essential driving techniques early.
We couldn’t be more stoked to have Hugo as part of the team.
Meet: Tayler Bryant
We’re stoked to have Tayler on the Street Smart coaching team - a young rising talent competing in GT3 and GT4 racing across NZ and Australia.
When he’s not chasing podiums, he’s out on track with us, helping young drivers improve their skills in a way that actually sticks. Tayler sums Street Smart up as fun, practical, and highly beneficial, and that’s exactly what you can expect on the day.
